Salmon in a  cast iron skillet and oven

Cooking salmon in a cast iron skillet and then finishing in the oven locks in moisture, cooks the salmon evenly and crisps up the salmon skin!

Once you learn how to cook salmon in a cast iron pan, you'll never want to do it another way! Here's an easy cast iron skillet salmon recipe:

butter

cajon seasoning

lemons

Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F.

STEP 1

Heat a cast iron pan over medium-high heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the pan.

STEP 2

Pat the salmon fillets dry and coat the top in the cajun seasoning.

STEP 3

Once the skillet is nice and hot, add the salmon fillets, skin side down to the pan. (Here's where the crispy skin comes in!)

STEP 4

Let the salmon cook for 3 minutes. Don't flip it! Spoon some of the melted butter overtop. Then put the skillet into the oven to finish cooking the salmon.
