It's a relatively short ingredient list with whole food ingredients. I do love that V8 Original 100% Vegetable Juice has no sugar added and no artificial colors or flavors too.

Generally, yes V8 is a pretty nutritious choice when it comes to drinks.
It's a better option than a lot of others out there if you're looking to cut down on added sugars and get a little hit of nutrition at the same time.
The blend of vegetable juice is an excellent source of Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Potassium. It also helps you get 2 servings of vegetables per 8 oz (or 1 cup). All this for only 45 calories per serving!
Plus, V8 Original 100% Vegetable Juice has no sugar added and no artificial colors or flavors.

Now there's on downside to all this tomato and veggie goodness: Original V8 is higher in sodium at 640mg per 8oz (1 cup) serving. So if you need to limit your sodium intake, you'd want to consider going with the low sodium version of V8.

🍎What is V8 Splash?
V8 Splash is a vegetable and fruit juice drink blend that Campbell's released but has shifted focus away from. It's still available in some countries (like Canada).
V8 Splash was more like a fruit juice then the V8 tomato-based drink that the brand was known for.
Campbell's introduced various flavours of V8 Splash when it first came out including Peach Mano, Strawberry Banana, and Splash Berry Blend.

🥕Is V8 Splash Good for You?
Well, V8 Splash is just really fruit juice - with a very small amount of carrot juice in it.
It doesn't provide much nutrition, aside from 100% Daily Value of Vitamin C and 20% Daily Value of Vitamin A.
The downside is that V8 splash has a ton of sugar - especially compared to V8 original blend. V8 Splash packs in 24 - 27 grams of sugar (about 5 teaspoons) per 12 oz (1.5 cups) serving.
It's also made with artificial colours, artificial sweeteners and has high-fructose corn syrup🙁
So would I say that V8 Splash is "good for you"? No, because it's just really fruit juice. You'd get less calories and sugar, plus more nutrition and fibre by just drinking some water and having some actual fruit!🍊🍎🍍🍒🍓
I wonder if that's why Campbell's decided to focus on other more nutritious drinks instead of V8 Splash.
For example, they now have a "Healthy Greens Juice" - a spin on V8 with less sugar and more vitamins and minerals than V8 Splash.

🔃Difference Between V8 and Tomato Juice
V8 juice and tomato juice seem to be pretty similar just by looking at them but they're actually pretty different!
So V8 vegetable juice is a blend of various vegetables, including tomatoes, carrots, celery, beets, parsley, lettuce, watercress, and spinach.
These vegetables are carefully selected and mixed to create a pretty unique flavour.
On the other hand, tomato juice is mostly made from tomatoes only, without all the other vegetables.
This makes the flavour of tomato juice more focused on the natural sweetness and acidity of tomatoes.
And besides taste, another difference between V8 and tomato juice is the nutritional content.
V8 vegetable juice has a lot of different nutrients in it from the different vegetables it's made with. It's also fortified with even more vitamins and minerals, providing a good source of essential nutrients.
Tomato juice, while still nutritious, tends to have a higher concentration of lycopene—a powerful antioxidant found in tomatoes—due to the absence of other vegetables.
They both tend to be higher in sodium so if for either option, consider reaching for the lower sodium version if you need to keep your salt intake in check.

If you're looking for a naturally gluten-free and nutritious drink, V8 juice is definitely something to consider.
