✅Is it okay to eat roasted broccoli?
Absolutely it's okay! In fact, I highly recommend it😄
Roasting broccoli is an easy, hands-off way to get a super nutritious vegetable on the table at suppertime.
❓Is it better to steam or roast broccoli?
Steaming broccoli is a great way to cook broccoli. But there's a catch: as long as we're talking about actual STEAMING and not BOILING.
Here's why: plunging the broccoli into a boiling pot of water causes much of the nutrition to leach out.
Even steaming will cause some nutritional loss. If you've ever steamed broccoli over a pot of boiling water, you've seen the green-tinged water leftover? There's some nutrition in that green water (it happens.)
But when we're talking steaming vs. boiling broccoli, I recommend steaming. And be sure to steam the broccoli only until it's tender and the colour is still BRIGHT GREEN🥦
No one wants to eat broccoli that's almost green/brown colour and is so mushy, you don't really need your teeth to eat it.
So when you do steam your broccoli, be sure to keep an eye on it. Or just set a kitchen timer like I do. Start with 5 minutes and check it after that.
Check out this post for Chicken, Rice and Broccoli Meal Prep where I show you how long to steam broccoli for meal prep.
🏅Is roasted broccoli better than boiled?
In my opinion, absolutely, 1000% yes! Roasting the broccoli makes it easier to prevent the overcooking that can happen to broccoli that's been boiled.

🥦What's the best cooking method for broccoli?
Stir-fry, saute, roasting and steaming are the best ways to cook broccoli, I think. If you're like me and you want the easiest cooking method that keeps the MOST nutrition, those are the ones to stick with.
🙋♀️Top tips
Although this recipe is easy and forgiving with the cooking time, it's STILL possible to over-roast broccoli. So do keep an eye on the time and the broccoli in the oven so it doesn't get over-done.
